I wanted to write just a limerick,

But it was too short to explain.

How Yarmouth carnival's so special,

And what it is people will gain.

There's sport, dinghies and crabbing,

For starter's to name just a few,

There's fishing, picnics and treasure hunts.

No shortage of activities to do.

In programmes there's quizzes and puzzles,

Shop windows are not quite what they seem.

There's a spirit of carnival cup,

You can win if you like to join in.

I'm glad I grew up in Yarmouth,

As I hoped that one day I'd be,

Part of carnival history,

And become the carnival queen.

Carnival day's finally here,

And people take part old and young.

They proceed through the streets of Yarmouth,

With everyone enjoying the fun.

Now carnival time is over,

Until next year arrives.

Remember to support the committee

With everything else they provide.
